On February 29, 2024, the "China-Foreign Entrepreneurs Ambassador Dialogue — Welcome to Cuba," hosted by the China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector (CICCPS), was successfully held in Beijing. His Excellency Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva, Ambassador Cuban Embassy, attended and delivered a speech, while Li Bingshu, the Secretary General of CICCPS gave the welcome address.
The event was attended by ten diplomats from the Cuban Embassy, including Minister-Counselor Igor Montero Brito, Economic Counsellor Roberto Smith, and Tourism Counsellor Elizabeth Vela. Twenty-six entrepreneurs from 23 companies participated in this dialogue, including Hongdou Group, which was the president unit of CICCPS. The dialogue was presided over by Wu Qifeng, the Vice Secretary General and Director of Administrative Department of CICCPS.
The "China-Foreign Entrepreneurs Ambassador Dialogue" is a flagship platform initiated by CICCPS designed to provide Chinese private enterprises with opportunities to engage directly with foreign ambassadors and diplomats in China. It aims to enhance their understanding of the latest investment policies and environments in various countries, pragmatically support their global expansion, and foster nongovernmental economic exchanges.
Focusing on the theme "Cuba," the session offered detailed presentations from Cuban diplomats and business representatives on Cuban socio-economic development, tailored investment policies, special economic zone incentives, and specific project opportunities. Notably, this event marked the first time CICCPS invited an ambassador-level diplomat to fully participate, setting a new, higher standard for its service offerings and establishing a pioneering precedent for future engagements.
